12 and 6 hour participants ride the same courses but with over 20 E-Bike teams entered, we’ve made the call to have a Main Course for all non-e-bike teams and a course split with an E-Bike Course for those motor assisted teams to head off on their own little adventure (more climbs, longer track). Below is a description of each of the courses:

 

MAIN COURSE (NON-E-BIKE COURSE)

78m Elevation Gain

1. Start at Waipa MTB Carpark, across the Pohaturoa Rd bridge and take a right in to Tahi track. 

2. Follow Tahi track through to Bakers Hollow (taking the long route around past the Kids Loop exit) and then head along Bakers Hollow to the far entrance of Creek.
   Ride Creek through to the first Nursery Rd exit.

   COURSE SPLIT

3. Left on to Nursery Rd and head a couple of hundred meters along before taking another left in to Dipper.

4. Ride Dipper all the way around to the Challenge/Pohaturoa Rd Exit, cut up on the end of Challenge Roadside and ride the rollers through to the Challenge two-way section and head up the pinch climb. 

5. Continue along the Challenge Exit track and you’ll eventually pop out across from the Rosebank pinch climb entry. Head up that and follow all the way through to the Dry Exit, back on to Pohaturoa Rd and you’ve now made it back to Waipa and Tent City (Event HQ).

 

E-BIKE COURSE

7.5kms

134m Elevation Gain

1. Start at Waipa MTB Carpark, across the Pohaturoa Rd bridge and take a right in to Tahi track. 

2. Follow Tahi track through to Bakers Hollow (taking the long route around past the Kids Loop exit) and then head along Bakers Hollow to the far entrance of Creek.
   Ride Creek through to the first Nursery Rd exit.

   COURSE SPLIT

3. Right on to Nursery Rd and ride about 100m along the road until you reach one of the alternative entries to Creek, right in to the track.

4. Follow Creek through to the end and cross Nursery Rd in to Piglet and up on to Pig Track.

5. Take Pig Track right through to the end and hang a left on to Katore Rd.

6. Take another left, this time in to Grinder and follow the marked line all the way out to the early exit on to Nursery Rd.

7. Right on to Nursery Rd, left down Pohaturoa Rd and then right up on to Challenge Uphill.

8. Exit Challenge uphill by taking a left on to Challenge Downhill at the crossing. 

9. Continue along the Challenge Exit track and you’ll eventually pop out across from the Rosebank pinch climb entry. Head up that and follow all the way through to the Dry Exit, back on to Pohaturoa Rd and you’ve now made it back to Waipa and Tent City (Event HQ).
